National Plastic Recycling Scheme

The National Plastic Recycling Scheme is an industry-led initiative designed to make soft plastic recycling easy and effective. This program allows residents to recycle soft plastics using distinctive orange bags, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

How It Works:

  1. Collect: Fill an orange bag with soft plastics (e.g., scrunchable wrappers and bags) until it’s about the size of a basketball.
  2. Recycle: Place the filled orange bag in your kerbside recycling bin.
  3. Process: The orange bags are collected and delivered to our Material Recovery Facility (MRF), where APR Plastics sorts the materials.
  4. Transform: Through APR Chemcycle’s cutting-edge chemical recycling technology, the sorted plastics are transformed into new plastic products.

Together, we can reduce waste and give soft plastics a second life.
